In first week after release of EA DICE production, it has been sold in amount of 5 milion copies around the world. I think only one game will beat that result, and it will be Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 -.-
On Metacritic, Battlefield 3 has a rank of 90 out of 100 points, which is a veeery good result.
In opinion of Brian Martel, the cofounder of Gearbox Software, it was not fair to give such a low ratings to their game called Duke Nukem Forever, which was very long in production, almost 15 years.
“I think there was no way that anybody could manage expectations. Name another game that’s in a similar situation. This is a game that was around for 15 years and it went through a number of engine cycles. It could never be everything for everybody, right? It is a caustic game in some ways, so maybe in some of that respect it could’ve been softened, but it’s [3D Realms'] vision and people should understand that in a world where we embrace the creator’s vision for something, we let that go. We let that be what it was supposed to be. And that is the team’s vision.” - he said.
So it's time for my newest gameplay recorded from Single-player mode of Battlefield 3. Check it out :)
Dan Amrich, Social manager in Activision, has wrote on his blog, that PC version of Call of Duty ELITE - New Social feature that come with newest CoD game - Modern Warfare 3, is delayed due to problems with security of this feature.
"We’re as committed as ever to the PC, but the need to ensure a safe PC environment is greater than ever. It’s really extensive. We need more time to get there, so Elite on PC will not launch on Day 1. We’re working our butts off to make it happen, but we won’t release it until we know that PC gamers can enjoy Elite as it’s meant to be.
The issue here is that the PC is an insecure platform. Without a central, trusted resource for stats, a lot of our competition features become unfair. We can’t give away prizes when people can easily cheat their stats. Leaderboards are less fun when a lot of the users are there unfairly."
In my opinion, this is just a business issue connected with console market. What is your opinion about that ?
